Title: 42) Cowichan River - Trapper's Cabin

2018-05-13 > 2018-05-15 COWICHAN RIVER
ACCESS: Drive in to Trappers Cabin (http://www.trapperscabin.ca).
WHAT: Three day Haig Brown fly fishing river trip.
CONDITIONS: Sunny, highs of 28C, min breeze, at dusk on river lots of hovering Mayflies in spinner stage (also lots of Caddis at night flitting around lights at Cabin), minimal birds. Close to dusk, lots fish surfacing at Otter Pool.
METHOD: Fly fishing with floating line + Leader + dry flies Royal Coachman, Flying Ant, & Goddard Caddis.
LOCATION: Cowichan River near Trappers Cabin and upstream at Otter Pool.
RESULTS: Two 2" (!) fish on Goddard Caddis at dusk for John, one trout for Dan Stirling, James, and Dave Loch.
OTHER: Great commradery, breakfast in town, one dinner in town, slept in Honda Hotel. Outdoor biffies, paid $10 per night to stay on site.
