GENERAL
- Wet freshwater streamer type fly, variation of a Woolley Bugger with a bead head.
- Very popular/go to fly for trolling for trout and bass.
- Originally tied by John Kent to imitate damsel flies on BC's Tunkwa Lake.
COMPONENTSHook: #8 or 6, straight shank, 2X.
Bead: Small plastic orange or red, opaque with silver liner is best but solid colour also works well.
Thread: Green or black are common.
Tail: Olive marabou, with tail about same length as shank to bead, do not cut feather straight, leave natural, tie back along whole shank to bead to build up body, cut of excess.
Hackle: Orange/brown thin sadle feather, strip off one side of feather, tie on to back of shank.
Body: Chenille, popular is olive, tie on from back of shank, tight wraps to bead, cut off excess.
Hackle: Wrap forward with feather out in same lines as chenille up to bead, tie down and cut off excess.
Head Cement: Yes, head only.
Optional: Tie in 2 strands Crystal or Pearl coloured flash before tie on marabou tail.
