Sunshine: Gunnar is doing well after his heart attack and hopes to be fishing soon. Sandy's eyes are doing much better. Sadden to report that Clive has passed.

Fresh Water:
- Ron visited Durrance Lake, saw no fishermen on the lake and no fish rising. On most Saturday mornings, casting bait from shore, Doug Dobbyn is willing to share fishing tips.
- A 4+ pound rainbow reported caught in Langford Lake.
- Elk Lake fishing may be good this year due to continued stocking and less fishing pressure.
Salt Water: No fishing, too windy.
ACS: Meeting (whale watchers): Orcas eat 40 lbs chinook per day, but no chinook to eat. No food for whales. Net pens are to be constructed at Sooke to raise chinook. A discussion on salmon stocks and the various problems they face, both man-made and natural.

Hatchery: GRR will be clipping on Thursday, 25 Jan 2018. Meet at 2879 Sooke Lake Rd, to go in in convoy. Coq au Vin to be served, with homemade buns and wine. Friends and family welcome.
Environment:
- Contributions to Millstream project: Club $500, Legacy Fund a possible $500 more.
- Beaver Lake update: storm water analysis, increased interest in Haliburton Creek, continuing algae bloom on Beaver is not proven to be toxic.
- Discussion of Colquitz and O'Donnell creeks.
