Meeting Minutes, (23 January 2018)

Place:  Silver Threads Centre, 2340 Richmond Rd, Victoria, BC

Chaired By:  Robert McConnell

Called to Order:  9:30 AM

Minutes of Last Meeting: Adopted as distributed

Sunshine: Gunnar is doing well after his heart attack and hopes to be fishing soon. Sandy's eyes are doing much better. Sadden to report that Clive has passed.

Social: N/A

Membership: 18 + 1 guest

Fresh Water:

Salt Water: No fishing, too windy.

ACS: Meeting (whale watchers): Orcas eat 40 lbs chinook per day, but no chinook to eat. No food for whales. Net pens are to be constructed at Sooke to raise chinook. A discussion on salmon stocks and the various problems they face, both man-made and natural.

Speakers Program: January 29: Ian Bruce, Peninsula Streams Society; Update on Millstream, Tod Creek and other projects.

Hatchery: GRR will be clipping on Thursday, 25 Jan 2018. Meet at 2879 Sooke Lake Rd, to go in in convoy. Coq au Vin to be served, with homemade buns and wine. Friends and family welcome.
