3) RonD: Squid jigging season started, anyone have experience? DaveC can buy squid jigging hooks. MickC: Seen jigging at James Bay Pier, think got just small ones.
4) JimM: Post meeting notes on Clinch Knots - I personally use the "Clinch Knot" and not the "Improved Clinch Knot". Both Knots are very similar in tying with the "Improved Clinch", the tag end is inserted and locks between the large loop left after going through the small loop created at the hook, I use fluorocarbon line and it seems that it is softer and the line bites in better. I understand when using monofilament, the "Improved Clinch Knot" is superior. When using heavier lines, fewer turns are required, 3 or 4 turns work. Leave a tag length of a few millimeters. A major element in tightening the line is the generation of heat. Lubricate the knot with water, spit works. When tightening apply equal tension to standing and tag end.
NEXT MEETING: Tuesday November 10 meeting Zoom followed by Presentation.
ADJOURNED: 10:22 am.
