April 18th meet at club house at 9:30 for drive up to Cowichan hatchery tour. Tour starts at 11:30am. Meet at Dog House Restaurant for coffee before the tour. We will meet for lunch at the Dog House Restaurant after the tour for lunch. There is no meeting on April 11.
Casting lessons for youth. Fresh water B.C. will take over administrating it

Sunshine Wendy Gedney: ColinC has Covid.
Social Bob ,Mike: May 10 Chilli and Pie get together at Elk lake pavilion by Rowing club. Members are encouraged to fish. There is a good ramp and parking at the rowing club. Mike will get back with cost and paperwork required.
Membership: Membership dues are due by November first meeting in November. Full dues are payable until June for new members. All club members are in the BCWF.
Fresh Water:
Mick gave report on conservation. Grant gave a talk on the Craigflower fish trap. An 18inch cutthroat and wild coho were in the trap. Fish are measured and released. Anyone who would like to volunteer see Grant.
Salt Water:
JohnP fished for crabs at Maple Bay. No luck.
Fishing closed except Becher Bay where fishing reports are good.
Bill reminded people to leave salmon heads in retainers provided at dock. These heads gives the fisheries information where the hatchery salmon originated from.
Fish outs: Fish out at Prospect Lake. Food will be available at park. 12:00 lunch .
Fly Tying: Three basic Chironomid flys will be demonstrated on Zoom.
Hatchery: Cold water is holding back fish development at hatchery. Hatchery to be empty of smolts by end of month.
PSS: No report.
BCWF: Region1 meeting coming up. Dave will be attending. Doug gave a presentation on access cards to gated land.

Gillie Club: Dennis was at Parksville Brant festival. He mentioned there is a good fly tackle shop in Parksville. He recommends Hands of Man Museum at Maple Bay.

Request for members to be Associate members of Esquimalt Anglers $10.00. $10.00 fee to join Peninsular streams. These are great organisations to support Fly fishing trip to Cowichan. Check Calendar for details.
BCWF kids camp cost is $250.00 per child. Bill suggested to the club to donate $250.00 to kid's camp. Motion by John and seconded by Dave to give $250.00 to BCWF for the kids camp. Motion carried.
