Social Bob, Mike: 10th May FishOut at Elk Lake starts 8:00. Lunch 12:00 am. Social 10:30 am at Beaver Lake Pavilion. We need one more person to bring Chilli. Please contact Mike if you are coming so we can get accurate food planning.
Membership: Gerry to put membership list on Chat line so members can download it.
Fresh Water:
1) Dale and Barry were on Prospect Lake and did well 35-36 fish were caught. Good fishing by boat ramp.
2) They fished Langford Lake and caught 39. All fish were caught on Bunny leaches. Full sink line. White and chartreuse colours.
3) Tony Caught 19 on black woolly buggers on floating line with sink tip at Prospect Lake. Anywhere on Prospect lake using full sink or floating line with sink tip using black leach pattern will catch fish.
4) Brian Pallas reported good fishing at Fuller Lake. Perhaps good spot for next fish out.
Salt Water:
1) Ling cod and rock fish are now legal to fish.
2) Prawning is good in Saanich inlet. Get them before the commercial fleet starts May 15th.
3) For the Month of May you can retain hatchery salmon off waterfront. This was the result of lobby efforts by Esquimalt Anglers Ass.
4) Good reports are coming out of Beecher Bay for Hatchery Chinook.
FishOuts: May 10th fish out at Elk Lake starts at 8:00 Chilli and pie 12:00
Fly Tying: In person fly tying club house. 9:00am- 11:00
Hatchery: Release of smolts into Goldstream. They will swim directly into the ocean. If smolt is over 5grams it will stay in river over the year and come back as jack spring. Ponding coho and chum now.
PSS: Applied for grants. 16 projects on the go. Looking to capture green crabs, invasive species, that dig up ell grass.
BCWF: Fishing camp for kids. The club will sponsor two kids. Contact Dave Cooke if you have grand child or family member who would like to attend.

Environment Mick:
1/ Mick assisted Living Lakes Canada in a funding application to expand the reach of National Lake Blitz in Greater Victoria. Letter of support was distributed to our club members.
2/ he also assisted World Fisheries Trust,(WFT) Coastal Collaborative Sciences division, submit a funding application to develop a Greater Victoria Urban Beaver resource program. Further details will be provided to members in a separate email. BCWF is a partner and will lead a beaver management best case practices workshop in Victoria in October, if funding is received. BCWF committed $7,000 in kind and cash from Provincial Government's Watershed Security Fund.
3/ lots of smolts being measured and profiled in the temporary Craigflower fish fence trap. Mainly unclipped coho and a few cutthroat to date.
4/ Jim Shortreed organized a successful herring panel discussion last night May lst. Dr. Benjamin Neal, a new UVic professor from Maine was one of the panelists along with Yogi Carolsfeld and Jacques Sirois, Victoria Naturehood. Dr. Neal would be a good speaker for our Fall program.

New Business:
1) Dave gave update on ramp at Prospect Lake.
2) JohnF has a belly boat that is free.
3) Congrats to Mike for putting for organising our display at the Outdoor show. Bill Thomas is asking for your opinion on our presentation at the outdoor show and post it on the chat line.
4) May executive meeting cancelled.
5) Lunch is on last Tuesday of each month.
6) Dave Cooke is putting together a trip for Kokanee fishing. Anyone interested or have info on where to fish Kokanee contact him.
7) Sidney boat show is on this Weekend.
8) Barry needs more flies to fill boxes that we give to new members.
