More recently Rebecca Nielsen of Coastal Collaborative Sciences and World Fisheries Trust did extensive research and sampling of the creeks flowing into Elk/Beaver (with climate change, substantially increased phosphorous in the lake etc) she has now completed her research and study and the report is due in approx 2 weeks.

A number of trees are to be cut down but they are providing $200,000 to help plant new trees and do remedial work, (current project is $160 M).
