Items Arising from the Minutes:
1) Smolt counting on Coquitz Creek. Starting in March to June. Thursdays. Six people needed. We have 9 people who have volunteered so we can alternate weekly.
2) Please no Politics on our chat line or at the meeting. We do have another chat line if you wish to make a political comment. Only fishing or conservation topics should be posted on the chat line.

Treasurer: No Report

Sunshine Wendy Gedney: No Report.

Social Bob, Mike: 23 people attended the Chinese New Year lunch. A  good time was had by all. Vicki Laughren has volunteered to pick another restaurant for next year.

Membership: No report

Fresh Water:
1) Dale and Barry fished Prospect lake and landed 11. Two on white bead chironomid. Size 12. Used power bait caught and caught 9.
2) Tip of the day: Observe other fisherman to  pick up ideas, ask people what they are using. We fish because it's our happy place and most fisherman want others to share in the thrill of catching fish. Share your knowledge with others on the lake.

Salt Water:
1) Fair fishing last week. Halibut fishing was good off of Sooke, Pedder Bay, and Constance bank.
2) Peter and Bob fished off Macauly Point and landed four Chinook. Four lb to 8 lb on skinny G spoons. 120 feet down. You have to move around. If you find the bait on the depth sounder you will find the fish. We caught these right in front of the harbour and one over by Saxe Point.
3) Norm Kent was catching salmon off the Sidney wharf using buzz bombs, 22" chinook caught. 50 Centimetres is legal size in Sidney. Sidney Anglers are having a garage sale April 21.

Fishouts: This Thursday at Fuller Lake. One hour drive Trans Canada turn right on Fuller Road. Boat launch good. A short distance past the boat launch for the dock and beach. Hot dogs served at 12:00pm $5.00 donation. Electric motors only. Beaver seen in water. Lots of wild life.

Fly Tying (Dave): Last week minnow pattern, 10 people some from Alberta. No session this Saturday 

Hatchery: Eggs maturing. Feb 21 for clipping. 6,000 fish to clip.

PSS: Join PSS. If you are counting smolts you need to join to have insurance. Cost is $5.00   

BCWF: Upcoming AGM meeting March 16 and 17 in Qualicum. Guest speakers will be present. It was suggested we donate a fly box to meeting.

Speakers Program: Adrian Clark of the fresh water society will be giving presentation to the club. A talk on treaty negotiations is on February 20th.

New Business:
1) Two new Associate Members.
2) West coast Fly fishers will be having a meeting this Thursday at club house. 7:00 pm.
3) Fisheries are looking for more north island lakes to stock kokanee.
4) Fisheries did a Recovery of illegal traps crab traps boundary bay. People were charged.
5) Barry Freeman was given $500.00 donation to the club for general revenue. This generous woman also had two salmon rods with Peetz Reels for anyone who wants them. See Barry.
