2) FishOut tomorrow at Langford Lake. Hot dogs served at south end of lake at noon
3) Katrina from PSS. will get back to us on when we can help for Colquitz smolt count.
4) Carnes family sponsored fish out in April at Hamsterly beach.

Fresh Water:
1) Dale Langford Lake Sunday. Lots of hits, landed 14 fish. All good size. One 21 inch cutthroat. Chartreuse with blue, and black leach at far end of lake.
2) Peter had a fantastic Cowichan River float trip. Small flies with egg pattern. $400.00 cost. Alex West is the name of the guide. Brown trout. Rainbows.
Salt Water: No report Lyle was talking to fisheries officer and no major changes till June.
Fish outs: Tomorrow at Langford Lake.
Fly Tying: Dave is open for requests for this Saturday fly tying. Trouble casting seminar in May. Florin to offer fly tying trouble tips after meeting next Tuesday.
Hatchery: Alvin getting ready to pond.

ACS: Meeting next week
WFA: Mohamed looking for board members for world fisheries trust. Lots of work to do. There are no plans for smolt trap on Craigflower Creek.

1/ Last Tuesday Mick gave a video taped interview at the handyDART site and he is attending the official opening Friday March 28 . Saturday March 29 there is a handyDART open house from 10am .
2/ Mick has been helping Rebecca Nielsen in preparing annual reports for Freshwater Fisheries Society of BC . Next week there will be an online meeting with Rebecca and the Gorge Waterway Action Society (GWAS) focussing on writing up data collected for the Portage Inlet Cutthroat Initiative (PICI). The plan is to document a current ' state of Craigflower Creek' for public distribution. It seems unlikely that there will be Craigflower smolt counting this spring and members are encouraged to volunteer for the Peninsula Streams Colquitz count.
3/ Mick assisted Living Lake Canada with an application to the Victoria Foundation for funding to expand the National Lake Blitz in the Capital region.
4/ CRD Parks and their consultants are preparing a report to the Parks committee on the oxygenation monitoring from November 2023 to December 2024. It will be on their April agenda.
5/ Prospect Lake Preservation Society has been conducting increased water quality monitoring and have updated their website. Their report on Eurasian milfoil combined with a similar report prepared by the BEES for Elk/Beaver Lake will inform further discussions on what measures can possibly be taken to control and manage this invasive species. https://prospectlake.net/ Mick Phone landline 250-598-3294

1) Lyle gave a short talk on the Herring Season and the Catch Assessment
2) Tony mentioned that they found a herring egg while doing their survey for surf smelts.
3) Ian and Mike talked to fly fisherman from Alberta about special stickle back. Most successful fly known to mankind. Florin knows the recipe for the fly and will demonstrate.
