Executive Meeting Minutes (6 March 2018)

Attendance: Mick, John Francis, Ron, Brian, Dennis, Rob, Bill, Art, Sandy, Sandy Raven.

Opened: 10:40 AM

Rob opened meeting.

A new microphone system was discussed, the decision was no need.

Library: Colin wants advice on future of library. Lot of books are out, remind people to return books. The library is a good resource for new members. Suggestions: find a rolling cart or shelves to make it portable and bring out at meetings; ask members for donations of books to keep renewing the collection, and cull some of the older material.

Mick: Not much interest in a GRR booth at the Clean-up and Craft Sale at Silver Threads, Saturday, Apr 21, noon to 4pm, will canvass members for volunteers.

Dennis: Still trying to contact Island Outfitters re: Cowichan River Trip.

Register club under Societies Act? Executive decided not to pursue registering with Societies Act as the work required is onerous and potentially expensive, including annual financial statements signed off by an accountant. Brian will get check to see what other member clubs of the ACS are registered.

Art: Distribute rack cards to ACS, Brian will take action.

John Francis Talked with Jennifer to see if we can put a second storage cabinet on the floor.
