    Meeting Minutes, (22 May 2018)

    Place: Silver Threads Centre, 2340 Richmond Rd, Victoria, BC

    Chaired By: Robert McConnell

    Secretary: Bill Thomas

    Called to Order: 9:30 AM

    Members Attending: 17

    Minutes of Last Meeting: Adopted as distributed

    Items Arising from the Minutes: Use Thrifty Cards (buy with Visa, get Air Miles)

    Treasurer: New Cabinet, for GRR storage will be available shortly.

    Sunshine:

    Social:

    Membership: Bring a Friend to Meeting on 12 Jun. There will be no speaker. The snacks will be upgraded and a Fly Tying Demo is possible.

    Fresh Water:

    • Barry, Prospect Lake – good fishing, Durrance Lake – not so good.
    • Rob and Ryan – took home 8 fish.
    • Bill – Fairy Lake, good Cut Throat, 3 fish. Thetis Lake – not good this week.
    • Rob – Is sending a Cut Throat caught in "???" to the Fresh Water Society for analysis.
    • Dave & his daughter – went on Cowachin with Ward Bond. 12 fish each at least, brown, cut throat, rain bow.
    • Buttle Lake, some getting good fishing, some not so good if you don't take all your equipment.
    Salt Water: John caught Chicken Halibut with Good Time Dave

    • Gorge Waterway Initiative Meeting – MOT Mackenzie Berm – usual treatment, grass not suitable for stream side of Berm. Some Concessions from MOT – Tree values projections are low
    • Blue Lighting on JSB – 10 Groups are on board for submission We viewed StanTech report.
    • Peninsula Stream AGM – Mick and Bill attended. The AGM was well attended, they have a $900 Thousand budget and many projects ongoing.
    • Fresh Water Society – Funding available of up to $5000 to assist in Sea Run Cut Throat.

    Speaker: Buttle Lake – Dale - Rainbows at 18 ". Caught Cut Throat. Weather good, lots of lovely terrain. Art – at Ralph River Campsite on Buttle. Clear water, 30 feet. A great time, lots of fishing stories. Lots of great scenery, lots of waterfalls.[/list]
