Minutes for last meeting- none (no quorum)

Items arising from last minutes: Nil

Treasurer's report:
·         None.
·         It is year-end after October 31-Final Annual Treasurer's report in early November

Sunshine Report:
Ron D is recovering at home,  and getting stronger and better by the day.  His son will come for about a week's visit in November.

Social:
·         A cookout at Goldstream was approved for 18 November, 11:00 am.  Soup volunteers needed.
·         Next week, Bob will suggest a Christmas lunch or dinner

Membership: No Change.  Several interested prospects have been sent membership forms to complete.  Not returned as yet

Freshwater Fishing Reports:
·         Sooke River almost finished for the season
·         Prospect Lake yielding nice trout and some bass.
·         Most people winterizing their gear until early spring.

Saltwater reports:
·         Sandy and Lev tried their luck at Billings spit but were skunked.
·         Most people winterizing their gear until early spring.
                                                         
Fly tying: Will be at John P's on Saturday morning at 10.  Please let him know if you are going.

Library: Sandy has taken over the library.
·         

Volunteering:
·         Goldstream Hatchery—5 female and 7 male early Coho were captured and retained.  The Coho return generally has been excellent area-wide-1096 fish (156 at Hatchery).  400 were given to local First Nations as a gesture of support.
·         Millstream Camera detected 196 Salmon and lots of salmon fry.  Millstream ladder working well.

Gillie Report:
·         Dennis advised members to release the drag on the reels for the winterizing process, to avoid long-term damage.
·         Mike C. suggested members needing a marine mechanic to contacts Marc at Runabout Mobile Marine.  They do home visits.

Legacy Report: $1,000 was approved for next fiscal year for South Vancouver Island Hatchery work via World Fisheries Trust, subject to receiving other funding

AMCS Reports: No discussion

Website: no changes

Conservation:
·         Mick updated us on his work on ongoing submissions for funding.  He will be away for three weeks starting next week.
·         Make stated that it was exciting that Western Diversification appears willing to consider funding a major part of the Elk Lake Dock funding, along with the Rotary Club and smaller donations from GRR and others.

Fund Raising: No active events

New Business:
·         AGM: Nomination Committee (Sandy, Bob) working to fill nominations for next year's Executive.  We particularly need a SECRETARY to compile and distribute meeting minutes.  AGM on November 23 November.

Speaker:
·         Chris Bos gave a talk on the Sooke net pen project-- excellent presentation was made  and well-received by the members.
·         Next Week's speaker is Dr Rennie Warburton on Racism.
