Items Arising from the Minutes: Lapel pins. Mike to get more information. Peter will post info on promotion flag for you boat on chat line. Fur is available for fly tiers for small donation. If you still want some contact Bill Thomas soon as he is going to dispose of the remaining fur.

Sunshine Wendy Gedney: Ryan doing well, will be coming back to the meetings. ChristopherW hopefully will be back next meeting. Dale's wife slowly improving, has a therapist. BrianC doing well, he is on dialysis.

Social Bob, Mike: Decorations are up, Cake ordered, 22 people will attend. Start time is at 5:30,  Dinner 6:00pm. Friday March 17th. $135.03 total spent on cake and decorations. Good job Mike! Wear something green to the pot luck.

Membership: New name badges on locker. $10.00 cost to the club per name tag. 

Fresh Water: Mohamed was at WFA fish out at Cowichan River. Some fish caught, Steelhead lost, euro nymphing was demonstrated. Mohamed took a dunking in the river. Snow was on the shore line. Good fun was had by all.

Salt Water: Windy conditions, Peter caught 5lb salmon off water front. 42 lb halibut caught off Pedder Bay. Fishing good off water front.
                   
FishOuts: Durance lake Wednesday March 8th, hot dog lunch at 12:00. Bring your own coffee. Donation jar will be there, check website for details.

Fly Tying: JohnP's place for next meeting Dave will send info on chat line.

Hatchery: 15,000. Smolts in Millstream. 2,000 were pit tagged. More to be release in Gold Stream. Chum are starting to eye up. 

PSS – Auction: Info to be sent on chat line. Money earned makes up for gaps in grant funding. Go to PSS website for 20th anniversary to be held at Gorge Pavilion in Kinsmen park. There is a $50.00 charge. This is a soiree where seafood will be supplied by finest at sea and music by a small Jazz group. PSS will talk about all the work they are doing. for stream enhancement

BCWF: Dave Cook is the clubs representative for the upcoming regional meeting annual meeting .It is important to have fishing representative at the meeting. Good for Dave for doing this

Speakers Program. Full booking for March into April. Go on website and click on the calendar for full list of upcoming speakers.  March 14th there will be Uvic Speaker  on echo location technology, At a  future date we wil have demo from Trotac on fish finders.

Fund Raising: Please sign up for Fairways card. they give %5 percent to the club

Environment: CRD is doing water management control information seminars. Haig brown doing zoom meeting on cutthroat trout. Dave suggested putting up no fishing signs on Craigflower stream. Hatchery puts 20,000 fish in Prior lake. fish were put in Thetis, problem getting access to
Lakes with parks locks.

Mick attended the Beaver Elk Environmental Stewards (BEES) AGM. Rebecca Nielsen gave an excellent presentation on both external nutrients entering Elk / Beaver Lake and internal nutrient trends.
Richard Best showed his underwater photography of Elk Lake carp and other species. Mick gave an update on the oxygenation schedule. All the equipment has been purchased and CRD will proceed with the construction of a 20 X 28-foot building to house the generation equipment as soon as Saanich building permit is approved.

2/ Rebecca is presenting to Haig Brown club tomorrow evening on Coastal Cutthroat trout stream restoration and Mick will be attending.

3/ Next Monday morning BC Conservation Foundation (BCCF) is running a webinar for stewardship groups interested in flow conditions and challenges on east Vancouver Island streams.
Dave Clough, restoration consultant , is the speaker .

4/ the $100 million BC Budget allocation for the Watershed Security Fund is great news and information has been distributed including the link to the BC Govt Watershed Security intentions survey.

5/ please sign up for assisting in smolt counting at Craigflower fish fence by emailing your interest to rebecca@worldfish.org

New Business: Dave gave out warning that Hotels will charge your credit card full amount at time of booking. Now is time to book your hotel for Campbell River fishing for month of August. Caution on using expedia. Club needs new signing officers. Mike to get update on sign for door.
