GILL NETTING: Beaches

HISTORY
20170526 JP 7:30-8:30AM watches 4 separate fishermen on beach just west of Dundarave pier gill netting:
01) Gravel/sand beach
02) Early morning when no-one swimming
03) Medium outgoing tide
04) Nets clogging with seaweed, shake when brought in to remove bulk
05) One had seal prowling his net, threw rock to try and scare off, said one fish only
06) All wearing waders.
07) All had 5 gallon bucket that also did sit on, some had second smaller bucket for fish?
08) One had round with hole float at far end of net
09) All had ~4m long net with floating rope along top and small ~4 ounce weight at end of rope to hold net in position, bottom of net must have sinking rope?
10) One was wading in and loifting flating line to feel if any fish in net
11) One was bringing net in to right hand held up to gather net, shaking as brought in to remove seaweed
12) Did not see how cast.
