  • Small streamer as fancy fly blurring line between fly and streamer/minnow pattern.
  • Alternative body is mixed Hares Ear & Yellow Diamond Dub to get flat green body with a bit of sparkle.
MATERIAL

  • HOOK: #10 to #14 Standard Wet Fly.
  • THREAD: Neutral Brown (to blend in with feathers).
  • TAIL: Partridge Fibres.
  • RIB: Silver Wire.
  • BODY: Silver Tinsel ie #12.
  • HACKLE: Partridge.
  • WING: Partridge tail bunch.
  • HOT SPOT: Pearsall brand Hot Orange #19.
METHOD

  • HOOK: Place in vice.

  • TAIL: Partridge feather from end, tie clump at back of shank with tail same length as shank, tie onto shank up to eye.
  • RIB: Tie on at back of shank.
  • BODY: Tie on top of shank behind eye with gold side up, wrap down shank with silver side, slight overlap, wrap up to front to create smoother neater body, tie on behind eye, cut off excess. Wrap wire up shank to eye, with evenly spaced spirals, helicopter break or cut wire off.
  • HACKLE: Prepare by removing fluff, hold by tip, fold back barbs in front, tie on top of shank behind eye, wrap thread down shank, cut off any tip excess. With hackle pliers, hold end of quill, wrap hackle reverse wrap, behind each wrap towards tail. Tie on with thread through hackle to eye (to reinforce hackle), cut off excess.
