MOTION TO ACCEPT LAST MEETINGS MINUTES: Ian and Barry

TREASURER Sandy Raven: 

SUNSHINE Wendy Gedney: John Ganan is in hospice. Brian Canfield doing well, wants to go fishing.

SOCIAL Bob C & Mike G:
-   Next social is celebrating the Chinese New Year on 8th February at the Jade Fountain restaurant. Let Mike Galbraith know if you would like to come as soon as possible. 22 people so far are attending.

MEMBERSHIP Gerry Walsh: No update.

FRESH WATER Dale Scheel:
-   No fishing because of weather and wife's birthday, worst week ever.
-   Last year cold weather fishing was tough but two women swimming!
-   Pierre Malo: Elk Lake last week, two trout on Black Leach.
SALT WATER: No reports.

FISHOUTS John Pierce: 15th February Fuller.

FLY TYING Dave Robinson:
-   Fly Swap completed with 7 participants, extra flies will fill additional boxes. Barry Freeman says great work.
-   Feb 3 = In person John Pierce home, Dave demo Sparrow fly.
-   Scratchboard art drawings of flies available via Dave.

VOLUNTEERING Bill Thomas:
-   Hatchery: 200 Chum eyed eggs sent out to each of 90+ schools for science projects. Water temp up so can re-start clipping 40,000, Smolts into stream by end March. Bill to send out Clipping Invite to GRR Members.
-   PSS: Several projects ongoing (ie Forage Fish surveys), $10yr to join via website.
-   BCWF Dave Cooke: AGM on Apr 11, BC NDP in process of turning over management of 50% crown lands to First Nations, concern for fishing hunting access.
-   ACS: No report.
-   WFA: No report.

LIBRARY: No report.

LEGACY FUND: Discuss Gear Sale proceeds in March 6 Executive Meeting.

GILLIE CLUB Dennis Gedney: Sign up sheets for Cluxuwe and Campbell River pink fishing. Going to Campbell River ~Feb 9 to check out summer lodging and fishing locations. Proceeds from excess Lead Sale to Sandy Raven.

-   Feb 13 = Possible DFO speaker.
-   Feb 20 = Treaty Negotiations, GRR Member Gary Walsh.

ENVIRONMENT Mick Collins: No report.

WEBSITE John Pierce: Updated Calendar, added Minutes to Forum, added Fly Tying Video Recording to YouTube Channel.

NEW BUSINESS:
-   Jochen Marwede: Recommend we buy Lapel Pin Microphone for presenters. Member Gerry Kennedy has excess boom mike and will bring one to try.
-   Bill Thomas: Club House Coffee machine is old, propose assist Esquimalt Anglers in buying half 2 burner machine, new cost $634. Vote Passed.
-   Bill Thomas: Fanny Bay Hatchery's annual open house Sunday May 5 9am-4pm, ~30 booths, entrance is free. Very good for kids/grandkids. Interest in GRR Booth for networking – Yes, lead Mohammed Docrat.

MONTHLY LUNCH: Spinnakers Pub Upstairs.
