Social (Bob, Mike):
1) Thursday November 21 Soup Potluck at Goldstream Park. 5 soup making volunteers needed. We expect a big return for chum salmon this year. Lunch will start at 11:30am. Bring something that will compliment the soups. Arrive early, Parking is always tight. Carpool if you can. If you have some firewood contact Mike Galbraith.
2) Dec.19th Christmas Pot luck dinner Dinner. Turkey will be provided. More info to follow.

Membership: New members get a free box of flies. See Barry Freeman.

Fresh Water (Dale):
Members gave reports on their summer fishing trips. Kokanee fishing on the Cariboo lakes after the ice melts.
Dale reports that people are fishing on Langford lake now so lake fishing should be picking up

Salt Water:
1) John Pierce and two other members fished Kyuquot Sound at fishing lodge. See John for details.
2) Bill Thomas caught lots of pink salmon in the Campbell River.
3) Bob and Peter had good fishing off of Sooke and the Victoria waterfront.
4) Fishing for Coho is still spotty off the Victoria waterfront. You are allowed one wild and one hatchery Coho.

FishOuts: October 16 Sooke River. Meet at parking area off Shambrook Dr. Lunch at 1:00pm. Fly patterns will be posted.

Fly Tying: No fly tying this Saturday

Hatchery: Coho taken from Goldstream three times. Big coho run. 3,000 pit tagged coho was put into the Millstream this Friday. 1500 in one location and 1500 in another. Last Sat 40 Coho were taken  from fence. Stream walkers are paid by DFO to count fish. 1,010 counted so far. Every Saturday 9:30am they are taking fish from the fence. email Bill Thomas for info. Salmon going up the Millstream.

PSS: PSS pit tagged fish in millstream. This is their initiative.

Gillie Club: Catching chum in the Sooke river. Use circle hook size 4. Not so many foul hooked fish. Minimum 17lb tippet, weighted line between leader and fly line. Get it at Robinsons. Wear finger guards. If you see Dennis on the river talk to him. He will tell you what colour fly to use and where to fish.

Speakers Program: Bruce Bevan will be talking next week on the History of Craigflower Fish Conservation.
