Golden Rods and Reels Fishing and Social Club

Executive Meeting Minutes, (January 9, 2018)

Attendance: Robert McConnell, Sandy Raven, Dennis Gedney, Bill Thomas, John Francis, Art Raven, Brian Palas, Mick Collins

Opened: 10:40

Robert stated Goals for this year:

  • Improve use of Website – it was suggested that the Fresh and Salt Water reports be posted weekly. Links to other clubs (e.g. West Coast Fly Fishers).
  • Increase membership by more advertising (Rack Cards) and having local and bait fishing fish outs. A mentor program for new members was suggested, with a list of mentors and their specialty to be posted as well.
  • Putting displays at Seniors and Outdoor shows was discussed, Bill to contact Conference Victoria.
  • All Executive members were encouraged to mentor potential successors. Job descriptions for each position will be compiled and posted.
