METHOD: Lure Fishing
Most sought after method to catch Pinks as easy and fun enough to keep the young or beginner anglers keen on the sport.
ROD: 6'6" to 9'0", fast action so (sensitive tip to feel your lure throughout its time in the water in order to detect the bite.
LINE: 8-12# monofilament or braided 8-12# depending on lure. Braided is thin diameter which allows for easy casting, and for long distance casts, braided allows you to detect bites quicker, and give you a better hookset as does not stretch.
LURES: Spoons – R&B Spoons, Gibbs Ultra Lure, Gibbs Mega Watt, Gibbs Croc, Buzz Bombs, Zzingers
SPINNERS: Blue Fox Vibrax, Trophy Tackle, LAR Lure, Roostertail, Mepps

METHOD: Twitch Fishing
Very effective in both Tidal and Non-Tidal water.
METHOD: Cast out, let sink to bottom, then twitch up rod, lower while reeling in, repeat softly. idea is to twitch lure near the bottom.
ROD: 6'6"-9'0" fast action to feel your jig throughout its time in the water in order to detect the dropping and lifting action, as well as the bite.
LINE: 8-12# braided as feel a direct connection to your jig, and will allow you to detect bites.
TWITCHING JIGS: Jig head is an upside down hook with built on weight at front and eye facing up on side, so that balanced. Optionally has ridged metal "plastic keeper" on hook that plastic goes up over and stops sliding off. Jig head is then covered with soft bait ie rubber Grub-Tail, rubber paddle tail bait fish, straight tail jerk, maribou, to combinations of feathers and fur.

METHOD: Float Fishing
Primarily for smaller rivers.
ROD: As above.
LINE: 12-15# Monofilament is all you need.
PRESENTATIONS: Anything goes, Yarn, Colorado Blades, Eggs, and even flies, recommend pink jig as provide a pulsating action which makes Pink Salmon go crazy.

METHOD: Fly Fishing
Most exciting and most effective techniques in all bodies of water for Pinks.
ROD: Large range, on average, a 9'0" to 10'0" rod in the 7-8 weight range is ideal, for some slower bodies of water can use a 6 weight.
REEL: Disc drag large arbour, saltwater safe and corrosion resistant.
LINE: Floating or intermediate clear for Tidal. Floating, clear intermediate and 3 or 6IPS sink tips for Non-Tidal. Pink's while schooling off beaches or swimming in the river are notorious shallow waster swimmers, thus keep your presentation near the surface.
LEADERS: 6-9" 10# fluorocarbon, tapered are extremely convenient.
FLIES: Tough to go wrong with fly selection, the main key factors to consider are water body, water height, and water clarity. In saltwater will often be quite small and sparse, in freshwater can be small and sparse, but also bigger and brighter. Good options are Pink & White Clouser Minnows – #6, #4, #2, Pink Comet – #8, #6, #4, Pink Handle Bar – #8, #6, #4, Pink Terror – #10, #8
5, Pink Beach Comber – #8.
